The Lord is our righteousness, and He has become our righteousness ( 1 Corinthians 1: 30) , however we do have a responsibly to live unto righteousness. To live anyhow and claim that we are the righteousness in Him is not genuine Christianity!
1 Peter 2: 24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 John 1: 9- 10
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those
that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God
