Have you perceived the hand of the Lord on certain things? Or have you noticed a certain pattern of events? Well l am not talking about what comes from the enemy, but what you know is of God. I once heard a man of God say “God does not do anything without a purpose”. When the Lord tells you to do something, however small it may seem, be rest assured that there is a purpose for it. Recently a friend shared an interesting account ”A certain man was in a meeting, and received a word of knowledge that he needs to address his anger. To cut a long account short, he didn’t. Shortly after that incident, he got annoyed unnecessary over a matter which cost him a significant amount of money in business. So what am l saying here? When the Lord instructs or does something, it is always with a purpose.
Lets look at this account: Luke 2: 4 - 7 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. Notice the above. Our Lord was born in a manger because there was no room for Him in the inn. This account tells us that “the inn” should have been the normal place for the birth of our Lord, however because there was no room for Him, he was born in a “manger” A manger means “a long trough from which horses or cattle feed. Not the best of places to be born, but was there a purpose? I do not claim to know all the reasons, but from verse 12 above one thing is sure “it was a sign”, an identification sign to find the messiah. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. Awesome, the scripture is clear, one purpose of our Lord being born in a manger was for a sign”. A sign for the shepherds!. God does not do anything without purpose. Perhaps you feel a leading to do something that you think does not make sense, be rest assured that there is a purpose for it. Just go ahead and obey! Bisi Oladipupo

I enjoyed reading this. Finding God's direction behind the decision we make takes a trained ear. Sometimes He uses others to help us realize the need to pause and find the purpose. The circumstances surrounding the birth of Christ highlight the humble beginnings of salvation. Thanks for bringing such an important emphasis on Jesus's birth.
