"By Bisi Oladipupo" Everyone likes freedom and liberty. Nobody wants to be bound or stuck to something that is unpleasant. Lets have a brief look at this scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2; 8 - 10 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved Verse 10 states clear why some unfortunately will perish. "Because they received not the love of the truth". Sometimes not wanting to receive the love of the truth can be rooted in pride or wrong mind sets.
While the above refers to salvation, the principle of receiving the love of the truth and the consequences of not receiving the truth applies to all areas of life. Have you ever said to yourself before , "well l told him/ her. they didn't listen, see what has happened? The reality of life and our Christian walk is that only the truth can set us free, Formulas and gymnastics will not do it, but only the truth. It is critical for us to be willing and humble to receive the love of the truth that we may be saved. Saved from what? That situation, that circle that seems never to come to an end, that challenge etc the list goes on! If we want to be free, we must be prepared to receive the love of the truth. It can come to us in various forms, rebuke, correction, the Word, a direct Word from the Lord, a prophetic Word, the list goes on! Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall (not may) set you free! (John 8:32). For us to know the truth, it must be received. So next time a friend of Pastor says, "you need to deal with that pride" you need to get committed with your walk with the lord etc, don't take offence, as that is what will set you free! Lets look at a good example. A person knows that they have to deal with pride. They believe it, but for it to produce fruit in their lives, they must receive the truth and necessary correction and also apply it to their lives. I was listening to a man of God a while ago. In summary a fellow child of God was sick. He was brought to this man of God for prayer. They prayed for a good while, and had a visitation. The man of God saw the Lord and the Lord told him that "I have come to heal him". The sick brother did not see the Lord but sensed it in his heart. He knew in his heart that the Lord was there and had come to heal him. However despite this, the brother refused to receive his healing. He kept on saying, l cant, l cant, l cant. The man of God told him, "the Lord has come to heal you, receive your healing' But the brother kept on saying, l cant, l cant. With a look of sadness, the Lord looked at the man of God and said 'I have come to heal him and he wont let me'. Very sad account, but this is what happens when we refuse to receive the love of the truth. Jesus has made us worthy, stop looking at yourself in the flesh. Whatever the bible says concerning you, that is the truth. Beloved of God, yes! Child of God! yes!, Risen with Him Yes!. As we continue to receive the love of the truth, we will live victorious Christians lives!.

I completely agree with you: you need to be able receive the love of God's truth before you can let any healing and peace enter your life! Great post; keep up the good work!

Nice post. One of the most liberating places we can arrive at as Christians is to love the truth. When we love it, we will not shun it, we will not rationalize disobeying it, but we will run to it, resulting in liberty beyond measure.

My heart is passionate about wanting people to know the truth, to know the fullness of God's love and how He wants us to walk and live in that fullness. If, 'in Him we live and breathe and have our being", then surely we will have soft and tender hearts receiving all that He longs to pour into our lives.
