Do you sense the Lord calling you unto Himself? Has the Lord been telling you to come up higher? Be rest assured, that the Lord has a great agenda. Lets look at an account in the book of Matthew: Matthew 4: 18 - 22 18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. 21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. 22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him. When Jesus called Simon called Peter he was a fisher man. He had no idea what the response of his simple obedience by
following the Lord will bring. It was a process, but the process started when Peter said yes. If you notice, all of the above men called obeyed immediately. Verse 20 'They straightway left their nets and followed Him'. What a great response. Ours is to obey the Lord, His is to work in us and do of His own good pleasure. If you notice verse 19 says, 'Follow me, and l will make you fishers on men'. We cannot make ourselves do anything, without the Lord. It is the Lord that makes us into what He wants us to be. We simply have to co- operate with His workings within us. Philippians 2: 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. We all know the outcome of Peter. All the above men that followed the Lord became one of His twelve disciples. Today, their names are written in the foundation of heaven: Revelation 21: 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. Peter wrote part of the bible and he did exploits for the Lord. Acts 5: 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. 16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one. Is the Lord calling you? Do you feel a tugging in your heart? Yes, we must commit and pay the price to follow the Lord, but it is worth everything! No investment on earth can yield the reward that await those that obey Him. After all, the Lord gave all for us. Even if we were not going to get rewarded, He has done so much for us, and we should be willing to fully commit to Him. At the end of the day, He is the only one who died for us. There is no greater joy than to be in the centre of Gods will for our lives. Is the Lord calling you? I am sure Peter when called as a fisherman had no idea where his destiny in Christ would led him too. The Lord has great plans for you to be part of His army. It is a privilege and a honour to be called of the Lord. Don't hesitate! Nothing is worth trading it for, absolutely nothing. Just say yes, and follow the greater agenda! Bisi Oladipupo

This is a sobering word. The Lord would have all of us to become a part Kingdom's fishing expedition for men. We have no business on earth that is more important. Every believer has a role to play because God has so equipped each of us. It is past time for us to be about the Father's business.

I so agree with you, Bisi. When we hear the Lord call, we are compelled to respond . . . and that is the best place to be! Obedient! Blessings, Amy

Years back, I sang in a men's trio where we gave ourselves the name: "The Fischermen." One night, after a concert, I was personally asked, "So, how many 'fish' have you caught?" It brought me into focus really quick. If I was to 'fish for men', singing or talking, I needed to let my nets down first to see any results. And as you mentioned, there has to obedience after the call on my part.

I loved your sentence: " There is no greater joy than to be in the centre of Gods will for our lives." I so totally agree with that! Knowing that I'm where God wants me takes the stress out of living, and makes it a joyful journey instead of a drudgery.

Peter's willingness to follow immediately opened the door for Him to know the Savior and to be used by God. John 14:21 says it's the same for us. "Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” If we want to know God, it always starts with obedience.

He is calling me to come up higher and sit with Him. He is teaching me as I learn to sit with Him I am then able to walk upon the high places and stand in a place of victory. Praise Him!
