Many of us are familiar with the account of Noah in the bible. God told him to prepare an ark before the world was destroyed with water. Let’s look at the brief account in the book of Hebrews: Hebrews 11; 7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. If you look at the above, Noah prepared an ark to “ the saving of his house”.
Suppose Noah did not obey the Lord what would have happened? Not only him, but his whole house hold would have perished in the flood. This is a great lesson and it also shows the impact our actions can have on our families. Is there anything that the Lord is asking you to do, that will save your family in the future? Are you being lead to make some investments to save your family in years to come? Is the Lord asking you to prepare of ark of prayer and intercession for your family? It has been said that many grandparents prayed in advance and saved their families. The instructions given to Noah and how to make the ark was very specific (Genesis 6; 11 – 16) to save his house. Has the Lord been laying anything on your heart? If the answer is yes, then it’s time to start building to save your house in whatever manner this applies to you. The Lord is gracious and He is always ready to save us and warn from unnecessary hardship; If we will only listen and obey. So what does your own ark look like? Bisi Oladipupo

Bisi, oftentimes when God is instructing us to do something the impact is more far-reaching than we can imagine. He is always up to something that's bigger than we are.

Believers today are too tied to what we can see and feel, and too disconnected from what is true as revealed by God. Often we don't make the plans you mentioned b/c we cant see any direct effect, but we need to believe that our kingdom efforts ARE valuable and impacting even if we NEVER see the results on this earth. Thanks for the reminder to obey God every time, all the time. Blessings!

I'll be honest, it bothers me to know that some Christians believe that God only gives us instructions for spiritual matters. The Holy Scriptures are filled with practical advices that are meant to "save" us and our families. Even Jesus' parables, which teach us kingdom principles, have practical advices that when put into practice can spare us and our loved ones much grief. Thank you for this timely reminder.

I loved your encouragement to "build an ark for prayer" for our families. So often, our discouragements that come over time with grandchildren who have forgotten about the Lord, or maybe don't know Him at all. It can break your heart at times. But God had Noah put a roof or window [a place for light] to enter. I am thankful that God gives us a LIGHT of encouragement in His Son, the LIGHT of the world, Jesus Christ. THANK YOU for your faithfulness, Bisi.
