While doing an online course about a particular area in public health, one of the strategies for improvement was making the solutions “easy to access” to all. To achieve these, one recommendation was to allow community trained staff, and lower staff down the medical field to be trained to enable them to administer the remedy. That way the public do not always have to wait for a specialist in the medical field which indirectly will make it is easier for all to get the help when required. Isn’t that a sensible strategy? It then dawned on me that this is the same strategy that has been set in the church today. The bible says, in the book of Mark 16:17 – 18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
The above verse applies to “those that believe”, not just Pastors or those in the fivefold ministry. So if Mr X needs healing, any believer should be able to “lay hands” and the person shall recover. We shouldn’t need to book an appointment to see a Pastor because someone we meet needs healing. So why do we complicate things? We live in world that needs help. As believers we all have to rise up to the occasion and do the work of the ministry. After all, the work of those in the fivefold is to “equip the saints for the work of the ministry” (Ephesians 4: 12). If a world organisation is looking at equipping many more people to be able to respond to a growing need, don’t you think we as believers need to change our thinking and rise up? We carry the words of eternal life, we carry life, we have the author of life, and this is what the world needs right now. Jesus died for all, and everyone needs the Lord. To be able to do this and give people easy access to what is available to them, we all must be equipped and ready to answer or respond at any given time. People need healing, deliverance, and above all salvation. The Lord does not desire that any man perish. Have you positioned yourself to be a carrier for what Jesus paid for? Do you realise that God loves all men? Are you one of those that will give those around you and those that you come into contact with easy access to the things of God? When somebody calls you for healing, or when you see a need, do you wait for a Pastor or do you rise to the occasion? We need to change our way of thinking and realise that the Lord is waiting on us to arise. We are already equipped because we believe. If you feel you need training, then pray, ask for direction from the Lord and get trained, but whatever you do, don’t sit back. The Lord is waiting on us, everyone to arise, the need is great. People need to see the heart of the father aand as they see His hand, they will run to the lord in droves. Yes the gospel is free, and should be easy to access, We need to arise, act on the Word and get going making it easy for everyone to access what Jesus Christ our Lord has already paid for. I love this post. What you are saying is exactly the way the Lord designed it from day 1. We should all be doing the work of the ministry. The church needs to get in line with this biblical paradigm.
