What matters most to you. What people think about you, or how the Lord sees you? We live in a world that tries to size people up, put them in different classes. Some people pride themselves in their professions, area where they live or who they associate with. While there is nothing wrong in having a good profession, or live in a good area of town, all these are temporal situations and circumstances. Have you ever had a boss before that is now referred to as “he /she was my boss? This shows how temporal these things can be. Our priority should be to please the Lord. What does the Lord see? Do we see ourselves the way the Lord does? At the end of the day, it’s the Lord opinion that will matter. Lets have a look at a few scriptures:
Romans 3: 20 - 24 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: From the above scripture, the righteousness (right standing) of God is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe, for there is no difference. We all have to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour. There is no difference. It doesn’t matter who you are, no flesh will be justified by the deeds of the law, in His sight. Do you want to make Jesus Christ Lord and Saviour of your life? Do you want to know Jesus? Do you want eternal life? Do you want to know God as father? Say a simple prayer and ask Jesus Christ into your heart, receive Him as Lord and saviour. Further information can be found from here: Colossians 1: 21- 22 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: Are you a Christian? How do you see yourself? This scripture tells us how the Lord sees us “holy, unblamebale and unreproveable” in His sight. So lift up your head and walk in the reality of who you really are. Hebrews 4:12- 13 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. God sees everything. We need to walk in the reality of this. If we have done anything wrong, let us be quick to ask for forgiveness from the Lord. Nobody might have seen the wrong motive of the heart, but the Lord did. He is ever ready to forgive, just ask. Hebrews 13: 20 - 21 20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. We need to be aware of the workings of the Lord within us that nobody else can see. It is God that is working in us that which is wellpleasing in His sight. 1 John 3: 22 22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. Pleasing the Lord does not mean that we will please people. What matters is that we do those things that please the Lord. Those right decisions towards Gods purpose, making right choices please the Lord. Keeping His commandments and pleasing the Lord are recipes for answered prayer. At the end of the day, what really matters is how we please the Lord “In His sight”. If you don’t know the Lord yet, make the decision for Him, a decision you will never forget, that you will never regret. Remember that its who you are “In His sight”, that truly matter. Good point, Bisi. We must be careful to view ourselves through the lens of God's view of us and not man's view. In the end, that's the only viewpoint that matters.
