Increase Your Capacity To Receive !

Let us assume that you are a billionaire and obviously very wealthy.  One day your five year old girl asks you to give her  one of your best cars. Would you give the car to the 5 year old?

Your five year old child is your heir; however you will not give the car to the five year old. Why? Not because the car does not belong to her but because she is not matured enough to handle the responsibilities of a car.  

The child would have to grow up and mature so that they have the capacity to handle what you give her.

While the above illustration is a bit obvious; the bible uses natural illustrations to convey spiritual truths.

Romans 8; 16- 17
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

The above scripture clearly states that we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. This scripture simply means that we have so much more we can be walking in that already belongs to us.

In the book of Galatians we see another scripture illustrating the above principle.
Galatians 4; 1 reads “Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

This is one reason we need to grow up!.

In the natural as long as we eat food we will grow up physically; however spiritually you have to decide that you want to grow.

Nobody will force to  grow up spiritually; the decision is yours,

When we grow up spiritually it not only helps but it influences those around us.

Has the Lord be drawing you to increase your word intake? Do you have a longing to increase your prayer life?

The Lord is not withholding anything back from us; however sometimes we don’t have the capacity to receive yet.

This is obviously a personal case and everyone needs to be honest with themselves and make a decision to get rid of anything that is holding them back.

The Lord has great plans for us.

Let us cooperate with dealings of the Lord and bring glory to His name. Let us say no to the flesh and let us grow up so we have a greater capacity to receive the things that already belong to us.
