Prayer Made Simple

Many of us are aware of the “ Lord’s Prayer” in the Bible (Matthew 6: 9- 13).

In this short article l am going to dwell on the phrase “  Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6: 10).

Did you know that the above verse is the basis for the majority of prayers?

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

The above reason is why we need to pray.

There are various types of prayers, but the aim of every prayer is to establish the will of God on earth.

The next step then is how to pray effective prayers.

A few years ago, l was speaking to a friend about something and she asked me a question “How are you praying”? To be honest at that point l felt “what sort of question is this? But do you know that she is correct.

Its is when we ask anything according to His will that He hears us ( 1 John 5: 14); and the Bible also tells us that we can pray amiss ( James 4: 3).

So therefore, it is important that we know how to pray.

The Bible says that “ the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (James 5: 16).

Notice the word effective.

And don’t let the word “righteous” throw you because we have been made righteous in Christ Jesus.

So going back to Matthew 6: 10, the main reason we have to pray is for Gods kingdom to come and His will be done on the earth as it is in heaven.

For Gods kingdom to come to that situation and His will to be done.
This will take effective prayer.

To pray effectively we would need to know how to pray.
The remedy is simple as we have the solution in the Bible.

• We need to know when to make a demand
• We need to know when to use our authority in Christ.
• When to interceded

Above all to pray according to His will.

Remember that we have the Holy Spirit with us to help us pray.

God asked us to pray because He wants to grant us our requests.

So next time to pray, just remember that you are establishing His will in that situation.
