We have victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15; 57).
As Christians we have to learn to walk through the trials of life with the Lord; knowing that through Him we always have victory. When we pray ; we believe that we receive and we have what we desire of the Lord ( Mark 11; 24). There are times that the Lord might instruct us to do certain things; it all depends on what the issue is.
But did you know that sometimes our minds can have a role in how things turn out? This is why we have been instructed to renew our minds (so we can prove what is that good; acceptable; and perfect will of God (Romans 12; 2).
Sometimes we need to get the victory also in our minds. Now let us look at scripture: In the book of Hebrews 11; the bible is giving an account of those that walked by faith. Hebrews 11; 13- 16 reads “ These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city ( Hebrews 11; 13- 16). Now let us look at verse 15 again. It says here that if they had been mindful from where they came from they might have had an opportunity to have returned. In other words if they had been thinking about where they came from; those thoughts would have presented an opportunity for them to act on and return; especially if the going gets tough. If they had been thinking; o the good old days; they might have returned. But instead they focused on where they were going. They focused on the heavenly. Return where? Return from where they were coming from; because they would have been focusing on the past. So although the Lord had a greater plan their thoughts could have aborted this if permitted, But thank God they choose not to focus on the past. We have to cooperate with the Lord. These heroes had nothing to pull them back because they were focused on their destination. Where they were going. This is one reason why we have been instructed to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ ( 2 Corinthians 10; 5).
Then we need to focus on our destination and do what the heroes of faith did. Guard your mind and refuse to dwell on where the you came from (whatever that means figuratively) so you fall in line with the will of God. We need to allow our minds agree with what the Lord is saying. Don’t allow your mind to talk you out of your miracle. Follow your spirit and step out in faith. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (Philippians 4; 8) . Tell your mind and thoughts that they have to align with what the Lord is saying. We are not going back there; we are moving on! Bisi Oladipupo © 24th July 2021

Great post, Bisi. We must get and keep our head in the game. Like the men and women of faith in Hebrews, chapter 11; we can successfully move forward only if in our mind we don't desire to go back.
