Have you been given a word from the Lord and it appears that something is boasting against it? Are you standing on a revealed word of God from scripture in any area of your life and something is boasting against it? Be rest assured that God is never caught unawares, and He already knew about that false look like impossible situation before it even appeared. The scripture says that “With God nothing shall be impossible” (Luke 1: 37). We can always learn from scripture. Did you know that we can find similar situations in the Bible where God came through? Let us look at Abram before his name was changed to Abraham. God told Abram that he would make of him a great nation, yet he had no child. He was not forty, fifty, or even sixty when God gave Abram this promise. Abram was at least seventy-five years old (Genesis 12: 4). At eighty six years old, Abram tried to help God on advice of his wife Sarai and gave birth to Ishmael (Genesis 16: 15). Then when Abraham was one hundred years old (Genesis 21: 5) Sarah gave birth to Isaac which was the child of promise. Abraham and Sarah could not have done anything about this in the natural. God stepped in and He removed the obstacle and the child of promise was given birth to in their old age. This was Abraham’s initial response when God told him that he would have a son; “Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?” (Genesis 17:17). If God did that, what is boasting against you that our God cannot remove? The children of Israel are another good example. Moses brought the children of Israel out from Egypt and the red sea was boasting against them. The Egyptians were pursuing them and they were stuck at the Red sea. “9 But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon. 10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord. 11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? 12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. 13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. 14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. 15 And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: 16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea” (Exodus 14: 9- 16). The full account can be found in Exodus chapter 14. God parted the Red Sea for the children of Israel and the Egyptians pursuing them drowned. Be rest assured that that situation that is boasting against you will be overcome by our God of whom nothing is impossible. So rejoice, and be glad. Why did Sarah have a child at ninety years old? Because of covenant. Why did God part the Red sea for the children of Israel? Because of covenant. We have a better covenant. The Bible says that the power that raised Christ from the dead is available towards us "19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1: 19- 20). Be rest assured that all will be well! Bisi Oladipupo © Copyright 28th January 2023
