Working Salvation in the midst of the earth

The Lord is so good. He  always wants to help and deliver many from trouble and harm. This includes those that do not even know the Lord.

 Have you ever listened to the news and you just knew that it was the Lord that delivered that person?  Sometimes we hear of accidents, people that escaped unharmed, terrible incidents people escaping or others coming to their aid at the right time. We have all heard of those trying to take their own lives  and somehow someone walks up and saves them.  I am sure you have wondered,
‘this person does not even know the Lord’ yet the Lord still delivers.

It is the devil that has some to steal and destroy.    John 10: 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to
  destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

The Word salvation not only means deliverance from sin and its consequences but includes, ‘Preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin or loss.

 I once heard a man of God give this account. These are not the exact words but the essence of the event. He was visiting people and suddenly had a burden to pray. He told the people receiving him that he had to pray and they all joined him in prayer. After praying for a good while he had a vision.

 In the vision, he saw himself pointing to a man during his meeting which was going to be held that evening and asked him to come to the Lord. He also saw a health condition that he had.


 To cut a long story short, during the evening service, the man came into the  meeting and sat at the exact position in the church that he saw him sit in the vision. He then just spoke what he saw in the vision. He said. there is a man here ;’ When you were raised up you were told by your parents that there is  no God. You currently have a heart condition and you are over 70 years old. This is what l see ‘you have one foot in hell and the other is slipping in’  You need to give your life to the Lord.


The man came out and received Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour. He then told the man of God that  doctors had told him that his heart could fail anytime. He also went to say that this is the first time in his life that he would enter a church. He was invited by a couple that were attending the meeting.


What a wonderful Lord we serve.


Psalm 74: 12 says   For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth


The account brings the above scripture to life. ‘Working salvation in the midst of the earth.


Many disasters and serious events have been adverted in prayer. The Lord had  stirred up His people to pray. Only eternity will reveal what prayer had stopped  in the natural. Those burdens you  had  with  very lengthy prayers! , you have no  idea what you stopped happening. The Lord through His mercy : saving and  delivering.


 Next time you hear of someone who had a near miss accident, someone lost but now found, someone delivered, just know that it is our loving Lord and Saviour,  trying to save and deliver, working salvation in the midst of the earth.
