When you are faced with a decision to make, what criteria do you base your choices on?
Many of us have heard about the young ruler in scripture, let’s have a closer look:
Matthew 19: 16 – 23
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Many of us have read the book of Judges (Judges 16; 1 – 26) with the account of Samson, and thought “how can someone do that”? Well in reality it did happen. Reading this recently, l saw something different.
Judges 16;4 says it all “And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah”. This verse clearly states that “he loved a woman”, however it is very clear from the account that Delilah did not love him.
We have all heard about faith, however without another very important factor we will struggle. So what is it?
James 1; 2-4
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
A good fight means that we have already won.
So why does the bible admonish us to “fight the good fight of faith” (1 Timothy 6; 12), if there was no fight? The honest truth is that as a Christian we are in a fight.
Do you realise that the clouds speak tremendous truth?
Here is some beauty you can behold from the clouds!
Jesus is coming back with clouds!
Revelation 1: 7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Matthew 26; 64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
A sign is a symbol that points to something of more significance. Any object action, event, pattern etc. that conveys a meaning is a sign.
Looking at the account when God told Moses to get the children of Israel out of Egypt, Pharaoh did not set his heart on those signs leading to hardness of heart. If Pharaoh had allowed the children of Israel to go after the first sign, he and his host would not have ended up the way they did. Exodus 4: 8 reads “And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign”. In other words, a sign has a voice. Its speaking something.
In the book of Exodus we have the account where Moses went up to mount Sinai twice to receive instructions and the ten commandments from God. He was in the mount for 40 days and 40 nights (Exodus 24; 18) on both occasions (Exodus 34; 28).
The first account can be found from (Exodus 24; 18 to 31; 18) and (Exodus 32 ).
If you were told that something needed strengthening, it could mean any of the following:
The word “contentment” means satisfaction.
I am not saying that we have to be content with bad circumstances, or circumstances that do not line up with the truth of God’s word, however the bible does speak about contentment.
Proverbs 4: 26 reads “Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established”.
Why do we have to think “ponder” the way of our feet? It’s because feet take us into a direction. In other words, we need to know where we are going.
